这里所说的香港铁路,是指从香港九龙至罗湖的铁路,系广九铁路(广州至九龙)的一部分。该铁路始建于1910年,轨距1435mm,线路长度34km。自1983年7月起,实现了电力牵引。接着进行为期5年的改建和扩建工程,包括建设复线,全程电气化、扩建和改建全部车站。全线共有10个车站,包括建2个新站(其一为九龙东站)。供电系统为交流50Hz、25kV。随着电力牵引的采用,客运量从每天40000人次增加到1983年12月的190000人次。
The Hong Kong Railway referred to here refers to the railway from Kowloon to Hong Kong and part of the Guangzhou-Kowloon Railway (Guangzhou to Kowloon). The railway was built in 1910, gauge 1435mm, line length 34km. Since July 1983, electric traction has been achieved. Followed by a five-year reconstruction and expansion project, including the construction of double-track, full electrification, expansion and reconstruction of all stations. A total of 10 stations across the board, including the construction of 2 new stations (one of Kowloon East Station). Power supply system for the exchange of 50Hz, 25kV.
