This article describes four basic issues with composite fasteners - electrical erosion, jamming, damage to installation, and low pull-through strength. Seven special fasteners for composite materials are introduced: large-diameter screws, semi-tubular rivets, CB (Ch-erry.Buck) rivets, stress wave rivets, slotted safety bolts, Screw. The findings show that in today’s composite structures, flathead fasteners that deliver low loads and connect composite and composite materials are most common.
