随着我国经济的发展和社会需求的变化,高等职业教育已成为我国高等教育的一个重要组成部分。但高职高专的学生英语水平参差不齐,基本功较差,尤其是经过单独招生考入的职业高中的学生(单招生)大都基础较差。英语基础差常常导致学生产生畏难情绪,从而丧失对英语学习的兴趣。心理学研究表明:学习兴趣是推动人去探求知识的实际动力。兴趣可以激发学生的求知欲,推动他们去探究和学习,从而获得有关的知识和技能。如果学生对英语学习有兴趣,就会自觉学习,学习时注意力会高度集中,思维也会活跃、开阔。因此,作为大学外语教师,在英语教学中应注意培养和激发学生学习英语的兴趣,从而提高学生的英语综合应用能力。
With the development of our country’s economy and changes in social needs, higher vocational education has become an important part of China’s higher education. However, the students’ English proficiency in vocational colleges is uneven and their basic skills are poor. In particular, the students of vocational high schools who are admitted through separate admissions (single enrollment) are mostly poorly-educated. The poor English foundation often results in students’ fear of difficulty, thus losing interest in learning English. Psychology studies show that learning interest is the actual driving force for people to explore knowledge. Interest can stimulate students’ curiosity, promote them to explore and learn, and gain relevant knowledge and skills. If students are interested in learning English, they will consciously learn. When they are learning, their attention will be highly concentrated and their thinking will be active and open. Therefore, as a college foreign language teacher, we should pay attention to cultivating and inspiring students’ interest in learning English in English teaching, so as to improve students’ comprehensive English application ability.
