湖北省县以上各级党委普遍建立了写作小组。据黄冈地委统计,全专区公社党委以上的写作小组共有304个,有成员2013人,1958年8月至11月三个月时间内,共写稿14305篇,其中在各种报刊上登载的7615篇,刊用率达50％以上。在写作小组的影响下,全区各地干部和群众又先后自动地成立了3222个通讯小组。这样,在黄冈专区便出现了“大家动手写文章,写作小组遍黄冈”的局面。这个专区的新洲县委写作小组(笔名于洲人),要算全区县委写作小组的冠军,三个月共写文章224篇,在各级报刊上发表了158篇。
