自20世纪30年代末起,随着中国进入全球反法西斯战争,中国和美国之间的文化艺术交流进入全新的时代。在欧洲旅行的中国知名人物画家杨令茀(1978在北加州去世)辗转来到美国,定居加州。张书(1957年在旧金山去世)则肩负“艺术外交”使命,受中国政府委托创作巨幅《百鸽图》赠送罗斯福祝贺他连任美国总统,并去美国和加拿大的近二十个知名的博物馆和美术馆举办画展,在旧金山定居,成为20世纪上半叶
Since the late 1930s, as China entered the global anti-Fascist war, the exchange of arts and culture between China and the United States has entered a completely new era. Yang Lingtao, a famous Chinese figure painter who traveled in Europe (died in Northern California in 1978), traveled to the United States to settle in California.
