战后初期,绝大多数东南亚华侨陆续加入居住国国籍,其政治认同相应发生变化。究其政治认同的转变动因有:东南亚各国为了巩固政治上的独立,维护国家的统一;新中国希望与东南亚国家建立友好睦邻关系,同时关注华侨在侨居国的生存和发展;战后出现冷战格局,美国关注华侨的政治效忠问题,忌惮庞大的华侨群体帮助共产主义向东南亚“扩张”。
In the early postwar period, the vast majority of overseas Chinese in Southeast Asia successively joined the nationality of their country of residence and their political identities changed accordingly. The reasons for the change in their political identities include: Southeast Asian countries in order to consolidate political independence and safeguard the unity of the country; New China hopes to establish friendly and good-neighborly relations with Southeast Asian countries, while paying attention to the overseas Chinese’s survival and development in the host country; Post-war Cold War . The United States pays close attention to the political allegiance of overseas Chinese and dread the exodus of overseas Chinese groups to help communism expand to Southeast Asia.
