Health Principal Secretary Fred Sigor has given an update on the progress Kenya has made towards expanding access to family planning. He reassured the government's commitment in meeting the needs of family planning and increasing the Contraceptive Production Rate from 46% to 56% by the end of the year 2015. Dr. Bartilol Kigen added that Sh9 million had been budgeted to go toward family planning and they're as well working in close relation with community health workers and various partners. During a press conference held at Serena Hotel， Professor Sigor said that they are keen to work on youth information and educating them on the myths and misconceptions associated with contraceptives as well as the side effects that come with them.
　　He said that the ministry's main focus was girls in colleges and universities. They as well plan on incorporating male involvement in contraception use and making them understand the need of contraception use although it has so far proven difficult. The conference was attended by various government partners from companies such as Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation， Clinton Access Initiative， Bayer Health Care and Jhipego. They all expressed their commitment to expanding family planning Access options in Kenya and globally as well as innovating， advocating and ensuring that there's access to contraceptives worldwide.
