The Southern Anhui Incident was the culmination of the second anti-communist climax launched by the diehards of the Kuomintang during the Anti-Japanese War. Although it has been many years past, many problems still need to be explored. It is not wise to choose the march route for the transfer of the New Fourth Army in southern Anhui. The retreat of the Star Lake in the battle is wrong; the timing of the Ishii pit breakout is too late.
