业内人士认为,综观今日中国报纸署名评论专栏,人民日报的“人民论坛”足以与当年美国李普曼为纽约先驱论坛报开设的“今日与明日”比肩。如果说后者使当年西方人士“透过一线洞天,看到了外部的广阔世界”(引自《新闻界人物·李普曼》第85页,新华出版社1983年6月版),那么前者则启发今日中国读者如何理解中央领导同志的一些重要讲话精神,如何看待群众关注的一些热点话题,如何观察国内外发生的一些重大新闻事件。
