王涛,原名王祖英,号芷沅,1908年农历二月九日生于湖南省江华县沱江镇的一个小地主家庭。6岁启蒙读私塾,1925年在湖南省立甲种工业学校读书时参加革命,是我党早期党员之一。1926年冬,党派他去苏联莫斯科中山大学学习,1929年学成回国。先后担任过湘南特委书记、中央党校军事政治教员、陕北省委统战部长、陕甘宁边区党委统战部副部长、湖南省委组织部长等职务,
Wang Tao, formerly known as Wang Zuying, No. Zhi Yuan, was born on February 9, 1908 in a small landowner family in Tuojiang Town, Jianghua County, Hunan Province. At the age of 6, he enrolled in a private school. In 1925, he joined the revolution in studying at Hunan Provincial A-type Industrial School and was one of the early party members of our party. In the winter of 1926, he went to Sun Yat-sen University in Moscow for study and returned to China in 1929.
