中国科学院南京地理与湖泊研究所的前身系中国地理研究所,在连天的抗日烽火中,于1940年8月正式成立于重庆北碚,是中国当时唯一的地理研究机构,即中国现代地理科学的摇篮,为新中国成立后建立一系列地理研究所奠定了基础。从20世纪40年代抗日的硝烟中诞生,到21世纪之交的全面振兴,中国科学院南京地理与湖泊研究所在风雨中顽强、曲折地走过了60年的辉煌历程,并正在以更加坚实的步伐和矫健的姿态,昂首迈向新世纪。
The predecessor of the Institute of Geography and Limnology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Institute of Geography, China, was founded in August 1940 in Beibei, Chongqing in the days of the war of resistance against Japan. It was the only geographic research institution in China at that time, the cradle of modern Chinese geography , Laying the foundation for establishing a series of geographical institutes after the founding of new China. From the birth of the anti-Japanese gunship in the 1940s to the full rejuvenation at the turn of the 21st century, Nanjing Institute of Geography and Limnology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, has strenuously and torturously walked 60 years of glory in the stormy weather and is taking a more solid Pace and vigorous posture, head towards the new century.
