Paul Harding’s 2010 Pulitzer Prize-winning film Tinker recounts a memorial to his father and grandfather at the death of a watchmaker. This article explores the confusion confronting men as fathers in the contemporary society in which faith is absent, as well as the impact of social change on the relationship between father and son and the family as a whole, by analyzing the missing image of the father in the work.
