9月20日,法国《新观察家》杂志和《世界报》等媒体,报道了法国生物学教授塞拉里尼发表的一份具有爆炸性效果的报告。报告称,塞拉里尼的科学小组对200只小白鼠,进行了长达两年的喂食转基因玉米的秘密实验,结果这些白鼠长出了令人触目惊心的大肿瘤。然而,此报告迅即引来诸多质疑声音。欧洲食品安全局10月4日宣布,塞拉里尼有关转基因玉米的实验结果无效,理由是实验设计、数据分析方面的诸多重要细节被省略,仅凭报告中给出的信息并不能得出相关结论。
On September 20, media such as France’s New Observer magazine and the News of the World reported on the explosive report published by the French biology professor Selarini. According to the report, Séralini’s scientific team conducted a secret experiment on 200 mice with two years of GMO corn feeding. As a result, these rats developed stunning large tumors. However, this report immediately led to many questions voices. The European Food Safety Authority announced on October 4 that the experimental results of Selarini on GM maize were not valid on the grounds that the experimental design and many important details of the data analysis were omitted and the information given in the report could not be drawn in conclusion.
