学术会议不论是全国性的还是国际性的,对交流最新科研成果,提供最新科技发展信息,推动科技进步,促使科研成果转化为生产力无疑将发挥重要的作用。但参加学术会议的人数一般为几十人到数百人不等,仅占从事这一研究领域的科技人员的很小部分,为了更广泛地传播学术会议的最新科技信息,会后常要出版学术会议论文集(或选集),从而使广大范围的专业人员能了解这一领域科技发展的最新动态。
