贵州日报在钢铁生产的宣传中,出现了不少好的新闻、文章和评论,有力地推动了贵州省的钢铁生产.“使万座高炉铁水齐流”(发表在八月二十一日第一版)就是其中比较好的一篇社论.人们都知道,贵州的工业是十分落后的,钢铁工业可以说是一个空白点.解放以后工业虽有了很大的发展,但钢铁工业仍然是一个薄弱的环节,即以生铁产量最高的一年来说,也不过两万来吨,而钢连一斤都没有.在这个基础上,全省要在今年内生产出几十万吨铁,几万吨钢,绝不是轻而易举的.首先碰到的是各种各样的右倾保守思想.许多人把钢铁生产看成十分神秘的事情.在他们看来,钢铁生产是重工业,不同于其他工业,更不同于农业,因而根本不能搞群众运动;他们对省委提出的钢铁生产的指标缺乏信心.克服这种右倾保守思想,是报纸的重要任务.
