NASA Goddard Space Flight Center has two pulsed laser systems in use to track near-Earth artificial satellites. This satellite is equipped with retroreflector. This system measures the distance noise level of about 1 to 2 meters. Errors measured at one repetition rate per second are not related to each other. During the day, as in the case of the night, tracking was also successful with little increase in noise. Using the national geodetic satellites GEOS I and GEOS II, the ranging accuracy of these two systems is better than 3 meters. The accuracy of the distance was compared by comparing the result of the laser ranging with that of the reference orbit obtained by the imaging and Doppler methods.
