通过水稻(Oryza sativa ssp.japonica)(品种通育211)与柳叶菜科植物月见草(Oenothera biennis)进行远缘杂交,在D2代出现变异株,D3~D6代出现了大量、明显的性状变异,并且出现特种米如巨胚米。对D6部分株系进行统计分析,在株高(变幅49.2~164.5cm)、每株穗数(12.1~38.2个)、穗长(20.3~30.3cm)、剑叶长(13.8~57.5cm)、叶宽(11.1~25.2mm)、主穗粒数(142.0~367.0粒)、结实率(0.8%~99.0%)、千粒重(19.7~33.8g)、生育期(90.0~108.0d)等性状与受体相比均达到极显著水平,变异系数多数在20%以上,最高达到40.8%。通过系谱选育,获得了一批在形态、生育期和多个农艺性状上有育种价值的水稻新种质,并出现了产量构成因素高度协调的材料,如DC621,在产量方面表现突出的材料约占30%~40%。对代表性变异材料进行了AFLP分子标记分析表明,月见草的花粉介入确实使受体水稻在DNA分子水平产生了大量的变异,DNA片段的丢失与增加普遍存在。
