新中国的粮食教育工作在各类短期培训班的基础上开始起步,20世纪50年代初期,开办了一批设有中等学制的粮食干部学校。1959年创办了第一所粮食高等院校———郑州粮食学院,几经周折、几经发展,粮食高等院校由一所发展到3所,中等专业学校由22所发展到40多所,干部学校由17所发展到200多所,职工学校由17所发展到1000多所,在校生人数和师资力量都达到空前规模,培养出大批粮食专业人才和管理人才。但随着粮食流通体制改革和教育体制改革的逐步深入,粮食院校纷纷改弦更张———
