The United States University of California, Arai Epson Calian studied the xenon chloride and xenon atoms between the bond formation. They found that they needed 330 femtoseconds (1 femtosecond is 10 ~ (-15) for 1 second). This is the first time that a chemical bond has been determined to form within a liquid.
