渝西北地区长寿、垫江、梁平铁路沿线资源丰富,自然条件较好,修建这条铁路可强化该地区交通体系。在铁路选线过程中,以沿线的经济、自然条件和工程特征为基点,结合现场调查,对线路走向影响因素进行了分析。沿线地形、地貌及工程地质条件对线路方案布局影响较小。线路的设计坡度以适应沿线地形、地貌条件,与邻线坡度衔接等因素综合比选确定。根据线路所处地理位置决定在南、北两端分别接轨于渝怀铁路和达万铁路,并对接轨方案进行了比选,提出了一条既能与沿线城镇基础设施和建设规划有机协调配合,带动地方产业结构升级及经济发展,同时又能较好地适应铁路运输要求的线路短、工程小、投资省的线路方案。

According to the geographical location of the route, it is decided to connect Yuhuai Railway and Daman Railway respectively at both the south and north ends, and to compare and select the connecting plan, a new plan is put forward that can not only coordinate with the urban infrastructure and construction plan along the line, Promote the upgrading of local industrial structure and economic development, while at the same time being able to better adapt to the requirements of railway transport lines with short lines, small projects and investment provinces.
