Nine strains of Gram-positive cocci were collected from clinical infections, of which seven were isolated from lower extremity wounds (six from the foot and one from the leg ulcer) and the rest from purulent breast lumps. Most are mixed infections, such as coexisting with Staphylococcus aureus. Due to its slow growth and colony size, it is difficult to detect when mixed with fast-growing bacteria. The phenotype of this bacterium is similar to that of P. aeruginosa, but differs from P. aeruginosa due to its indefinite growth in 6.5% NaCl medium and its lipidophilicity.
