2004年10月12-15日，中国教育学会历史教学专业委员会2004年年会在北京召开。来自全国各地的中学历史教师、教研员、高等院校和教育科研单位及出版部门从事历史教学研究的人士一百多人出席了大会。
研究性学习的实施，与规范的教育体制、人文取向的社会文化传统、规范有序的课时安排、狭小拥挤的活动空间、习惯于传统学科教学的师资之间存在冲突，其实施的科学性与有效性有待于进一步努力。
