在全国经济工作会议上，江总书记讲到，中国相机工业只剩下两只鸟：一只是海鸥，一是凤凰，民族工业怎么办？第二件事是１９９７年江总书记用凤凰望远镜观看三峡截流。这两件事传到厂里，广大职工无比振奋，深切感受到中央领导的关怀，成为我们为民族工业奋斗的巨大精神动力。
At the National Economic Work Conference, General Secretary Jiang stated that there are only two birds left in the Chinese camera industry: one is a seagull, and the other is a phoenix. What about the national industry? The second thing was that in 1997 General Secretary Jiang viewed the Three Gorges interception with the Phoenix Telescope. These two things were passed to the factory. The vast numbers of employees were extremely excited and deeply felt the care of the central leadership and became a huge spiritual force for us to strive for national industry.
