Societe d Etudes et Reisisations Techniques has developed a fuzzy logic controller for optimal control of the crystallizer level during continuous casting. This controller achieves the goal of faster production stabilization by maximizing steady-state casting time, increasing productivity and improving quality. This new SERT system makes it easier to identify and analyze transient phenomena. The process of injecting the molten metal into the mold is crucial to the correct operation of the caster and has a decisive influence on the quality of the finished product. The traditional use of PID controller for mold level control, but this system can not withstand many disturbances, to achieve the perfect level control will be very difficult or impossible.
