从20世纪90年代开始,大陆的一些传播学者在余也鲁的倡导下拉开了传播研究本土化的序幕。以西方理论为基础,以中国经验为研究对象的认识论二元框架就此形成。这一二元对立的框架成为此后各种传播研究本土化路径的基本指导思想。然而,从认识论和方法论层面来看,“中西二元框架”不仅存在着自身无法克服的认识论悖论,而且它对西方理论和中国经验的理解是非学术化和教条主义的。其结果就是在各种非议中,传播研究本土化迷失了发展的方向,与它当初的目标渐行渐远。其实,传播的本土化应当是一种多元化的学术自觉,它总体来说可以被形容为中国学者在与西方学术对话过程中的批判意识。
Starting from the 1990s, some mainland scholars of communication opened the prelude to the localization of communication research under Yu Yuru’s initiative. Based on western theories, an epistemological dualism framework based on Chinese experience has been formed. This dualistic framework has become the basic guideline for the localization of various communication studies since then. However, from an epistemological and methodological level, the Sino-Western Binary Framework contains not only an epistemological paradox that can not be overcome by itself, but also its non-academic and dogmatic understanding of Western theory and Chinese experience. As a result, in all kinds of criticisms, the localization of communication research has lost its way of development and has drifted away from its original goal. Actually, the localization of communication should be a kind of diversified academic consciousness, which can be generally described as the critical awareness of Chinese scholars in the process of academic dialogue with the West.
