Objective: To investigate the significance of Tamm-Horsfal protein (THP) and β2 microglobulin (β2MG) in children with primary nephrotic syndrome (PNS). Methods: The levels of THP, β2MG and urinary THP, β2MG excretion in 60 children with PNS during active and remission period were measured. Results: Blood THP, β2MG values were in the normal range. Urinary THP excretion continued to increase, and the resistance to hormone therapy and increased dependence on. β2MG excretion PNS-I completely normal; PNS-Ⅱ activity increased, the remission returned to normal; PNS-Ⅲ continued to increase. Increased renal synthesis of THP for unknown reasons. Increased urine β2MG excretion may be caused by damage to proximal tubule function. Conclusion: The changes of THP and β2-MG levels are of great significance to PNS
