董维忠:天津港保税区是在1991年5月12日经国务院批准建立的我国第二个保税区。在这近三年的时间内,我耳闻目睹了保税区的发展变化,能否请您谈谈天津港保税区所取得的主要成就。 王海平:在上级部门的领导和支持下,经过近三年的奋斗,保税区已改变了昔日一片海水浅滩、回淤泥塘的旧模样,成为兴旺发达、初具规模的投资热点。主要表现在: 一是招商成倍增长,外商投资踊跃。截止今年1月底,已批准企业达2201家,超过500万美元的投资企业超过50家。总投资超过了17亿美元,其中外资企业1730家,投资额11.6亿美元。外商遍及全世界五大洲的55个国家和地区。特别是1993年,招商成倍增长,全年批准企业1437家,投资总额9.6亿美元,较1992年分别增加102％和35％。到目前为止,天津港保税区批准的企业数和外商投资企业数在全国同行中都是名列前茅的。

Wang Haiping: With the leadership and support of the higher authorities, after nearly three years of struggle, the bonded area has changed the old appearance of a shallow sea of saltwater and silt back to silt and has become a thriving and well-established investment hot spot. Mainly in: First, investment doubled, foreign investment enthusiastically. As of the end of January this year, 2201 enterprises have been approved and over 50 enterprises have invested over 5 million U.S. dollars. A total investment of more than 1.7 billion US dollars, of which 1,730 foreign-funded enterprises, investment 1.16 billion US dollars. Foreign investors in 55 countries and regions on five continents. In 1993, in particular, investment promotion doubled. 1,437 enterprises were approved in the year with a total investment of 960 million U.S. dollars, up 102% and 35% respectively over 1992. So far, the number of enterprises and foreign-invested enterprises approved by Tianjin Port Free Trade Zone has been among the best in the country.
