人的生存与活动总是具体生动的,因而人在生存和活动中要遵循的道德职责也不能单纯的停留在抽象的形式上,而必须同样是具体的和现实的。明确人在各种条件下的道德职责或伦理规范,这正是费希特伦理学在其职责论中所要阐述的。费希特将道德职责分为四类:一、每个理性存在物作为实现道德规律的工具都具有的对于自己生命的职责,即生命的职责。二、人们在共同体中都要恪守的法则,也就是使人类社会上升为伦理共同体或目的的王国,因而对每个人都有效的东西,也是基本的社会伦理规范或道德职责,即对他人的职责。三、家庭所要求的职责,即人伦职责。四、每个人都应该选择特定的阶层或职业而成为终极目的的工具或手段,即各阶层的职责。
