The athlete’s diet plays an important role in their endurance training. We investigated nutritional intake and blood parameters for 52 long-distance runners at Simon Fraser University. Their average age is 21-22 years old, carrying out systematic training throughout the year and participating in specific local and national cold spells. 35 male athletes train about 11 kilometers per day, and 17 female athletes train an average of 10 kilometers a day.
