桃树隐芽寿命,有人认为只有一、二年,叶芽形成后,如果翌年不前发,则大多数枯死, 不能长久保持其活力。有人认为桃之隐芽与其他果树相同,一有机会,均可发芽生长。据 前华东农业科学研究所观察:隐芽在养分充足时,可从形成不同长度的果枝,假若离主枝 不远,可从培养成单位枝,从增加结果面积;养分不够时,不抽生或每年抽生一段与仁果 类相似的中间枝。本文初步说明桃中间枝的形成及其利用。 桃树枝条极性较强,二年生枝先端芽能抽发长技,自剪口以下,因生长势强弱不同,抽枝逐渐减短,有些萌发后仅有几片叶,而无长度,成为短缩的枝条,仅顶端有一叶芽,此种 枝条称为中间枝。中间枝有时因养分不够每年仅萌发数叶片,形成重台式,年复一年,可 达到五台;若养分充足或受修剪刺激,中间枝可以萌发为长枝,用以结果及更新树冠。 中间枝的分布情况,在二年生枝上,多集中在中下部;在三年生以上的大枝上,以三、 四年生枝上分布较多。不同品种也有相同的趋势(表1)。

The middle branch sometimes due to lack of nutrients only the number of germination leaves each year to form a heavy table, year after year, up to five; if enough nutrients or by pruning stimulus, the middle branch can grow into long branches, to the results and update the crown. The distribution of the middle branch in the biennial branches, and more concentrated in the middle and lower part of the branch in more than three years to three or four years branches are more distributed.
