Zhou Enlai made a great contribution to the traffic construction in the western part of the PRC, and earlier he clearly defined the strategic position of developing the western transportation in rejuvenating the nation and made painstaking efforts in developing the traffic in the west. He presided over 26 years of economic construction and laid the foundation for the crucial transportation we rely on for developing the western region today
