八十年代初期,我国教育改革的浪潮,引起了武昌造船厂退休经济师李光炬多年来的一桩心事:她出身于书香门弟,自己和兄弟姐妹全都受过高等教育,可是三个子女却成了“被耽误的一代”,个个与大学无缘。她发誓,一定要让千千万万个孩子能读上大学,使其增强才干,在四化建设中大展鸿图。她把实现这个“心事”确定为退休后的最高理想和奋斗目标。为实现这一奋斗目标,她在分析了当时的主、客观条件后,制定了分两步走的规划:先到早期开办的民办大学任班主任,以便熟悉情况,增长才干,积累经验,为自己办学创造条件;然后自己创办一所新型的民办大学。
In the early 1980s, the tide of education reform in our country caused a reverie by Li Guangju, a retired economist at Wuchang Shipyard, over the years.
