Objective To understand the sanitary status of drinking water quality in rural schools in Shouguang City and provide the basis for the health supervision and scientific management of school drinking water. Methods In April and August of 2009 ~ 2014, we sampled and tested the drinking water of 83 rural schools in the whole area of the city, conducted on-site investigation of the basic situation of water supply units, and collected 1 peripheral water from dry season and wet season of each year. GB / T 5750-2006 “drinking water standard test methods” for sampling and laboratory testing, according to GB5749-2006 “drinking water health standards” for evaluation. Results The qualified rate of drinking water in rural schools in Shouguang City was 70.68%. The passing rate in each year showed a trend of rising year by year. The lowest pass rate was 53.01% in 2009 and the highest pass rate in 2014 was 89.76% (P <0.05). The qualified rate of centralized water supply was 80.11%, and the passing rate of decentralized water supply was 65.06% (P <0.05). The pass rate of water quality in dry season was 62.05%, and the passing rate in wet season was 79.32% (P <0.05). The pass rate of middle school was 69.59% and that of primary school was 71.56% (P> 0.05). The qualified rates of different detection indexes were different. The total number of bacteria and the coliform group were the lowest. The pass rates were 72.79% and 73.49% respectively. The pass rate of coliform bacteria was lower than that of other indicators (P <0.05). Conclusion The passing rate of drinking water in rural schools in Shouguang City is relatively low, which is seriously polluted by microorganisms.
