Comrade Yan Fu is an old head acquaintance and respect. The old Red Army, a war general of the New Fourth Army, is a famous artillery soldier who made outstanding achievements in the war on U.S. aggression and aid Korea. I have always miss him. During the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, Comrade Yan Fu demonstrated the glory and prestige of the heroic courage in many battles in southern Jiangsu and northern Jiangsu. My first contact with him was during the two Lianshui defending battles in 1946. I led the laborer stretcher team to directly support the troops he commanded and fought with the North to withdraw Shandong. Soon afterwards, the Central Government ordered all our cadres who were withdrawn from the north to return to their place of origin and insisted on the struggle behind enemy lines. At the time of departure, he and Comrade Peng Chong (when he served as the fifth division of the sixth division of the New Fourth Army
