However, the “prescription” of saving the society with Christ-style emotion departs from humanism and returns to medieval ethics. Although the play has a happy ending, for Shakespeare starting from the ideal of humanism, this negative and disappointing view of social reality and humanism is undoubtedly a profound tragedy.
