思维是大脑的功能,尤其是大脑皮质的功能;思维表现为智能,而思维的泉源则是大脑所记忆的知识。这已经是一种常识。然而大脑是怎样进行思维的?又是怎样记忆的?却至今是人类的一个未解之谜。基于符号处理的计算机,可以通过精心设计的程序,使它在一定程度上表现出某种类似于人的智能行为。这就是已经有三十多年研究与开发历史的人工智能(以下简称 AI)。正 Thinking is the function of the brain, especially the function of the cerebral cortex; thinking is expressed as intelligence, and the source of thinking is the knowledge that the brain remembers.
