南山咀遗址位于信阳市五星公社平桥西大队,遗址为一高约10米的土岗,面积约1500平方米,遗址以西30米是京广铁路(图一)。1978年2月和1981年4月,信阳地区文管会与市文化局曾在此处发掘三座春秋墓。1982年秋,我队在豫中南调查时,对该遗址又进行了复查。从断崖暴露的现象看,文化层堆积厚约1米,地面还可拣到人工打下的石英石块和锥形鼎足等遗物。由于烧砖取土,遗址大部已被破坏,只有少部分保存较好。为详细了解其文化内涵,我队于
Nanshanzui site is located in Xinyang City, five-star commune Pingqiao West Brigade, ruins of a high about 10 meters of soil Kong, an area of about 1500 square meters, 30 meters west of the site is Jing-Guang Railroad (Figure 1).
