A novel microcomputer-controlled, lightweight infusion pump (Pancretec Provider IV 2000 ™) for the in vitro and in vivo testing of cancer patients at a flow rate of 0.2 to 83 ml per hour delivers in 200 hours (8.3 days) Liquid 1 ~ 1999ml. The pump can be intermittent infusion and continuous infusion of two programs. Numerous clinical studies have shown that this pump is capable of delivering narcotic painkillers, anticoagulants, insulin, antibiotics and certain hormones in order to prolong drug release in ambulatory patients. This paper reports the results of in vitro and in vivo controlled release studies of this infusion system. In vitro experiments were performed at standard room temperature and pressure.
