奥运会是当今世界上最大规模的体育盛会。举办好2008年北京奥运会,是首都人民、全国各族人民乃至全世界华人的共同心愿,是中华民族的百年企盼,也是中国和北京对国际社会的庄严承诺。
The Olympic Games are the largest sports events in the world today. Hosting the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games is the common aspiration of the people in the capital, the people of all nationalities in the country, and the Chinese in the world. It is a hundred years of hope for the Chinese nation and also a solemn commitment of China and Beijing to the international community.
