In all the trends that have affected the company’s business development prospects, there is seldom anything more powerful than strategic partnerships in terms of the companies’ driving force into the next decade. We all saw the role of “partnership” in almost all industries. The United States’ automotive industry is a good example of recovery due to its cooperation with Japanese automakers. We have also witnessed the catastrophic consequences of “unmarried alone”—the steel industry in the United States was almost extinguished by its refusal to find strategic partners. The information technology industry is no exception. It not only encourages business contacts, but also develops tools that promote business partnerships like those in other markets, such as electronic data interchange.
