Due to the great differences in language and thinking between Chinese and English, there are many cases of “Chinese English” that are not compliant with normative and inconspicuous translation practice and foreign communication. The “Sapir-Whorf Hypothesis” mainly discusses the inseparable relationship between language, thinking, and culture. This article attempts to use this doctrine as a theoretical basis to analyze the causes of Chinese Chinglish and put forward some thoughts on countermeasures.
