拟声词是某种特定语言中用来模拟自然或人为声音的词项。英语和汉语都有大量拟声词,并且呈现出诸多共性和个性。本文从语音、句法功能对比英汉拟声词,分析异同并总结拟声词英汉互译的技巧。了解和掌握英汉拟声词各方面的差异,能丰富我们对于拟声词这一特别词汇类型的知识面,提高译者对拟声词的翻译水平,促进我们更加准确地实现拟声词在英汉两种语言之间的互译。
Onomatopoeia is a term that is used to simulate natural or artificial sounds in a particular language. Both English and Chinese have a large number of onomatopoeia and show many commonalities and personalities. This article compares the similarities and differences between English and Chinese onomatopoeia through phonetic and syntactical functions and summarizes the skills of translating the onomatopoeia between English and Chinese. Understanding and mastering the differences between the onomatopoeia of English and Chinese can enrich our knowledge of the special vocabulary type of onomatopoeia and improve the translator’s translation level of onomatopoeia so that we can more accurately achieve the onomatopoeia in English and Chinese Translation between two languages.
