全美新品种选拔赛(AAS Winner)始于1932年,是北美洲最为古老的植物新品种评选活动。每年从未上市的植物新品种会被种植在试验场地,然后根据其在花园应用中的综合表现,由园艺专家评选出获奖品种。今年的全美新品种选拔赛与往年相比最大的不同是,本届选拔赛评奖分为全国性和区域性两种形式。在北美洲所有地区表现最好的品种获得全国性大奖,而仅在部分区域适宜种植且表现突出的品种获得区域性大奖。
AAS Winner began in 1932, is North America’s oldest selection of new plant varieties. New varieties of plants that are not on the market each year are planted at test sites and gardeners are selected by the horticultural experts for their winning performance based on their overall performance in the garden. The biggest difference between this year’s new variety trials in the world and previous years is that the current selection trials are divided into two types: national and regional. A national award was given to the best performing breeds in all parts of North America, while the regional prizes were awarded to only those breeds that are well-planted and highlighted in some areas.
