Since the discovery of somatostatine (SS), this hormone appears to be a powerful new approach to the treatment of human diabetes, driven by the earliest researchers. In the past seven years, significant progress has been made in our understanding of SS; for this reason, we do not intend to list them one by one. There are many excellent sources for reference. However, it is clearly timely to summarize the SS’s gain in diabetes mellitus.
