Japan’s statistics Japan’s economy continued its stagnation in 2002, and the chilled water unit market has shrunk dramatically. JRAIA’s statistical disclosure shows that the domestic shipments (to the domestic market, factory shipments) of absorption and displacement units were 2914 and 86,58 respectively, down 107% and 13.9% respectively over the previous year while the domestic shipments of centrifugal chillers were 235 units, down 41.4% from last year. The domestic shipment of assembled air conditioners reached 668,116 units, a decrease of 8.9%. The following is a summary of the domestic shipment in the standard year RY2002.
