《剑桥小学英语》是世界著名的英国剑桥大学出版社专为世界各地初学英语的儿童编写的系列教材。这套教材于2000年4月在剑桥推出,现经方正人教公司中国寻书网的努力,正式引进我国。这套教材是以国际教育心理学、语言教学理论的最新研究成果——Gardener多元智能理论为指导思想编写的。智能理论认为,儿童与成人一样,能力各不相同,学习方式也应不同。Gardener指出人的智能特征可有7种:语言、数理逻辑、音乐、空间、自然观察、人际关系与自我调节等。教学的意义与教学任务就是充分考虑儿童的不同智能特性,挖掘他们的潜能,使每个孩子感受到成功的乐趣与喜悦,进而开发其他方面的潜能。很多新教材都设计有 Cambridge Elementary English is a series of textbooks written by world famous Cambridge University Press for children who begin to learn English all over the world.
