The basic principle of traveling wave ultrasonic motor is briefly described. The advantages and disadvantages of two methods of finite element method and classical vibration theory in stator composite disc analysis are compared. The finite element method is used to analyze the natural frequency and natural mode of the stator in the free state. The analytical results are given.
