Peripheral influent sedimentation tanks have not been used in water supply projects in China. Compared with existing structures, its superiority, such as how design factors are considered and how they are calculated, needs to be explored and studied. Therefore, in 1978, we had a diameter of 90 cm, a water depth of 56.5 cm, a skirt at both the center and the periphery, and a sedimentation tank model with a water depth of 21 cm. We used the same sand sample to make a set of center water intakes. Exploratory comparative tests on water distribution with surrounding orifices. The experimental results are shown in Fig. 1a. It can be seen that there is a considerable difference between the removal efficiency and the load. The difference in removal efficiency is about 20% at low load and high at high load
