The body part of the book, “The Western Regions of Han Dynasty,” makes a clear distinction between the political affiliation of the Western Regions and shows great concern for the natural and humanistic information in the Western Regions. It shows that the two Han dynasties rulers have a clear Territory awareness. However, at the end of the chapter, “Praise on” is based on the theory of “ethnography of Yi Xia” and puts forward the theory of uselessness and jiugu in the Western Regions. It contradicts the sense of territory shown by the text. This is the specific political and cultural background of the Han Dynasty and the product of the strategic situation in the border area.
