对流层散射通信是利用介电特性不均匀的对流层对超短波、微波的散射作用来实现超视距无线电通信的方式。对流层散射通信,具有单跳跨距远,通信方向性强,保密性好,且电波传播不受核暴、磁暴影响等特点,在军事通信中使用较多。此通信手段适宜在丘陵地带,跨越海岛、江河、湖泊、沙漠等特殊地区应用,可与卫星通信、微波接力通信配合使用,也可自组系统,可传输数字电话、数据、传真和电传报。进入80年代以来,在石油、电力、煤碳等国民经济领域得到越来越多
Tropospheric scatter communication is a way to realize over-the-horizon radio communication by utilizing the scattering effect of the ultra-short wave and microwave in the troposphere with non-uniform dielectric properties. Tropospheric scatter communications have the characteristics of single hop span, strong communication direction, good confidentiality, and radio wave propagation from nuclear storms and magnetic storms. They are widely used in military communications. This means of communication is suitable for use in special areas such as hilly areas, islands, rivers, lakes and deserts. It can be used with satellite communications and microwave relay communications. It can also be used as a self-organizing system to transmit digital telephones, data, fax and telex . Since the 1980s, more and more have been obtained in the national economy such as oil, electricity and coal.
